What is a postpartum doula?

A postpartum doula provides support to new families in their home during the postpartum period to ease the transition to life with a new baby. This includes assistance with newborn care, emotional support, household tasks, education, etc.

How long do you typically provide support?

Each postpartum contract includes a flexible number of hours tailored to your specific needs. We will discuss your preferences during the initial consultation to create a plan that works best for you and your family. Some families only need me for a few days, while others hire me for a few weeks.

How soon after birth can I start using your services?

You can start utilizing my postpartum doula services as soon as you return home from the hospital or birthing center. Many families find it beneficial to have support in place right after their baby arrives.

Can I still benefit from a postpartum doula if I've had a c-section?

Absolutely! I’m experienced in providing support for all types of birth experiences, including C-sections, and can tailor my assistance to your recovery process.

What if I have specific cultural practices I want to follow?

I respect and embrace the diverse cultural practices of all families. We can work together to incorporate your preferences into your postpartum care.

Do you provide support for postpartum mental health?

While I am not a licensed therapist, I offer emotional support and can help you navigate the challenges that come with the postpartum period. If you’re experiencing significant emotional difficulties, I can refer you to local mental health professionals who specialize in postpartum care.
